By a joint decision of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the European Patent Office (EPO), the China-Europe Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program was officially launched on August 1, 2026.

Since the launch of the pilot program, applicants from both sides may file PPH requests with either the CNIPA or the EPO in accordance with the procedures for requesting PPH under the China-Europe PPH pilot program.
