Professional Experience
Mr. Xu began to practice IP matters in 1999. During 2000-2002, Mr. Xu worked in a State-owned Trademark & Patent Law Office as an associate patent attorney. In 2002, Mr. Xu joined in a leading international intellectual property Consultancy, as the head of Chinese Patent Practice Group, In 2006, Mr. Xu joined in Unitalen as a partner in the International Department and is responsible for US and Canada business development and client management.
Mr. Xu has extensive experience of patent drafting, prosecution, invalidation, litigation and enforcement in the field of mechanical engineering and material science. So far, Mr. Xu has handled over 600 patent prosecution cases, about 20 patent invalidation cases, about 10 patent litigation and administrative enforcement cases as well as various opinion work such as Freedom-To-Operate Opinion, Non-infringement Opinion and Validity Opinion for some multinationals. Mr. Xu is good at communicating with US and European clients in English fluently and understands the culture of diversity quite well.
